BEHR'S Dampfgenuss

BEHR’S Dampfgenuss – fresh vegetables in a special pouch for steaming in the microwave!

These products are individually packed in a steam cooking bag. They are quick and easy to prepare with impressively tasty results. All you need to do is place the products in their pouch in the microwave for a few minutes. What makes them so special is that you can cook them without adding water. As well as a short cooking time, this protects valuable vitamins and nutrients.

According to scientific studies, vegetables from the cabbage family, such as broccoli, may contain even more vitamin C after steaming in the microwave than when consumed raw. This method of preparation also ensures the vegetables are particularly tasty and retain their appetising colour.

BEHR’S Dampfgenuss Single-Packs are available in stores as cauliflower, broccoli and pointed cabbage.

Cultivation and harvesting

Our cauliflower and broccoli for BEHR’S Dampfgenuss grow in summer in our fields in Gresse (Mecklenburg-West Pomerania), while our pointed cabbage is grown in Ohlendorf-Seevetal (Lower Saxony). In winter, the products thrive under the Spanish sun in the region of Murcia.

For our BEHR’S Dampfgenuss we cultivate standard varieties of cauliflower and broccoli, which are then harvested at a very early stage of cultivation. Our BEHR’S Dampfgenuss pointed cabbage is a special small variety that has fully developed its characteristic head at the time of harvest.
