As a market gardening group operating throughout Europe we grow vegetables on 4500 hectares of open field. Thanks to our production sites in Spain and Portugal, we are in a position to supply our customers with fresh vegetables all year round, even in the winter half-year. We lead the organic field with organic crops grown on an area totalling 350 hectares at various sites around Germany.

All of our operations use the same, clearly defined quality assurance system to monitor everything from production and processing to marketing, and receive full support in maintaining standards from our internal consultancy Agrarmanagement GmbH (AMG). Managing Director Dr. Georg Mevenkamp and his team have several years of experience in and extensive academic knowledge of outdoor market gardening. As a service provider to the Mecklenburger Ernte producers’ association, AMG offers our producers advice and active assistance in such areas as soil cultivation, planting, care and harvesting of crops, and also analysis of production performance and quality statistics. Selecting crop varieties and quality management are further areas in which AMG supports the BEHR Group.
